DIAMONDAVID
Diamondavid is a very special friend of mine. We met in the year 2000 here on webtv. In 2004 he suggested making a page or two for a couple of my poems. It turned into one of the largest websites on line, with many different features, writings, stories, poetry, music, faith, and David's own website. During these years we became close friends. One year my husband Joe and David started calling each other on the phone when football season began. They would discuss who was going to win each and every game.
Then in the year 2008 we decided we wanted to meet in person, and David flew from Iowa to Harrisburg airport. Pennsylvania. He only stayed 12 DAYS, cause he had a return flight, but was here long enough to know we had a friendship for keeps.
The following summer 2009, David bought himself a Suzuki 1500 motorcycle, and wanted to ride here and see our mountains and other sites. Oh how he loved our mountains and curvy roads. And Joe needed help digging a couple ditches to drain water out of our yard.
We had fun together riding the country roads and mountains. Stopping along creeks and streams to watch ducks, and Canadian geese. Or see a fish jump out of the water after a bug, and watch graceful dragonflies flit across the water.
We would stop and take pictures of beautiful landscapes, and country farms, with horses or cattle grazing in the fields.
Joe and David became best friends. They went fishing together, and for walks with our boxer Lilah Girl. We all sat on the front porch and talked forever about sports, and cars and trucks, or anything else that came to mind. They worked together doing things around the property and painting parts of our house before new siding was put on.
When ever he would go off riding on his cycle, and then return and varooom back up our dirt road, Lilah would run to the door, waiting to greet him. Now here was a bond that was just plain awesome. David would get on the floor and wrestle with her, and they tormented each other to no end.
David took this picture while the two of them were heckling each other. LOL!
We took David to many parks, and caves. The Little League Museum, coal mines, a safari where the animals were free to roam. We went swimming one time in the Susquehanna River but that was only because David pushed me in, clothes, shoes, and my Timex wrist watch, which still works LOL!. The truth be known I slipped on the rocks and fell in on my butt Hehe!. But as far as David was concerned I say he pushed me in. LOL! The really funny part that made a woman and her two kids standing on the shore laugh, was when David took his shoes and watch off, and came wading into the river, with all his clothes on, and off we went swimming so much fun!!!
In 2010 David saw his first black bear right here in our yard. He was fascinated by the size and the power of this bear. With eyes bigger then saucers, he began clicking away on his cell phone taking pictures.
We are hoping David will soon be able to come here again, for there is so much more to show him. So many more things to do. And he has yet to meet our two new dogs Rags and Susie.
It is rare that people who meet on line would ever meet each other in person. For the three of us and Lilah - our friendship bond was forever sealed. Lilah has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge so now a new bond will be formed between David, and these two precious dogs when David returns.
