I met Leona on line
about three years ago.
Since that time I have come to know
just what a kind, caring person she is.
She not only cares deeply about people,
she makes quilts for many who are ill or bedridden.
She especially enjoys making quilts for sick kids of all ages,
just needing a hug.
She works through a doctor associated with CAM
(Christian Action Ministries).
She does this diligently,
day in and day out.
She watches quilt shows,
buys her own materials, makes her own designs,
cuts the squares, then gets out ironing board and irons some of the pieces.
She sometimes buys little toys,
and puts them in special made
pockets on the quilts for the kids.
Then there is all the tedious hand sewing and machine work.
