It was about five years ago when I met Vickey on line.
Since that time I have come to know just
what a kind, caring person Vickey is.
Vickey not only cares deeply about people,
she makes beautiful dolls for children who are
ill or bedridden, needing something to hold on to,
cuddle up with and give it hugs, as they
deal with ungoing pain, treatments, and healing.
Vickey gets many requests on line and through different
sources, and has won awards. She works diligently,
soon to be reaching her goal of 200 dolls.
She cuts out the patterns,
from materials donated to her or she buys herself.
There is all the tedious hand sewing and machine
work plus making the faces on each doll.

There is another part of Vickey she shares, and that
is her writing. She has authored stories which have been published.
She is known as ("wordpainter") because of the vivid,
colorful words she uses in her amazing stories,
that in the end always says "LIFE IS GOOD".

Vickey has made many friends over the years,
doing these tremendous tasks.
It is true that if we could heal the world we would,
but as individuals, we can make someone smile,
someone feel special, by letting them know we care,
with one act of kindness. Vickey is one of those people.
No words can express the devotion Vickey has for sick children,
and she uses her God given talent to give
sick children some joy, laughter and comfort.
