We get some very interesting wildlife/critters
who visit here. This is The northern ring-necked snake,
a small thin snake David and I found
under a rock along rock edge we built down
through upper yard to avert a mountain spring..
We were very fortunate to get it's picture.
It has a dark gray slate colored body with
a yellow ring around its neck.
The head is flat and the length can be
9 to 25 inches long.
They like to stay under cover and are found under
stones, bark or trash They are usually more nocturnal
but may be day-active in the spring and fall.
They are harmless little snakes, best left in peace.
